From all of us here at Friend to Friend America, we’d like to thank you for your interest in volunteering to visit a senior in need of connection.
Our volunteers directly impact the lives of lonely and isolated seniors. We are thrilled that you want to be a part of fulfilling this mission!
What volunteer training looks like
Friend to Friend America provides comprehensive training to make sure that you feel well-prepared and confident on your first visit with your friend.
Here’s your next steps and what to expect
- Download and review each training section. The training is broken into 3 sections with a comprehension quiz the must be completed at the end. You should plan to dedicate about 45 mins per section.
- Part 1: Visiting your friend – time commitment, communication expectations, and visit dos and don’ts.
- Part 2: Reporting requirements – how, when and to whom to report elder abuse
- Part 3: Sensitivity training – a deeper dive into how to compassionately communicate with your friend.
- Complete your quiz! Completing the quiz helps us know that you have completed and understand the training.
