We are beyond honored to announce that our Executive Director, Lisa Slavik, and our organization have been recognized with the prestigious People Power Award 2023 by Ivanhoe.

This esteemed recognition celebrates individuals and organizations that make a tangible impact in their communities. Lisa Slavik’s dedication to improving the lives of seniors through Friend to Friend America has been a beacon of hope for thousands. For over four decades, we have worked tirelessly to connect caring volunteers with seniors who face isolation in care facilities or their own homes. This award is a testament to the hard work, compassion, and commitment of our volunteers, staff, and supporters.

A Mission Rooted in Connection

Founded on the principle that no one should feel alone, Friend to Friend America has been instrumental in creating lasting friendships between volunteers and seniors. Lisa Slavik’s vision has always been simple yet profound: every senior deserves a friend. Her leadership and unwavering passion have driven the success of our programs, making a real difference in the lives of countless seniors across the country.

The People Power Award: A Recognition of Dedication

The People Power Award highlights individuals and organizations that harness the power of community to bring about positive change. Ivanhoe, a well-respected media outlet known for spotlighting stories that inspire and uplift, recognized the meaningful work of Friend to Friend America in creating bonds that combat the silent epidemic of loneliness among seniors.

“Loneliness is a public health crisis, and Friend to Friend America has been at the forefront of addressing this issue with compassion and action,” said Lisa Slavik. “This award is not just for me, but for every volunteer who has taken the time to be a friend. It is a shared victory for everyone who believes in the power of human connection.”

Looking Ahead: Expanding Our Impact

While this award is a proud milestone, it also serves as motivation to continue our work with even greater dedication. Our goal is to expand our reach, recruit more volunteers, and ensure that every senior who needs a friend has one.

We invite you to join us in our mission. Whether through volunteering, donations, or simply spreading the word, every effort contributes to a world where no senior feels alone.
