Uniting Residents With
New Friends Since 1974

Since the program began in 1974, more than 10,000 residents have had a special friend through the program. Friend to Friend shares its information and know-how with others when requested and continues to serve as a model for others who have developed the program in other communities.

Volunteer

Friend to Friend America recruits and matches volunteers to visit (one-to-one) with elderly and disabled persons who live in nursing homes, assisted living, retirement homes **new in 2013 we are in Adult Family homes**for the purpose of forming friendships. The volunteer friends make a commitment to visit at least twice a month at their convenience, for a minimum of one year. Anyone may volunteer. Visits may be short, 15-30 minutes.

Contribute

Friend to Friend depends entirely on contributions for its support. The nature of the program does not lend itself to charging for ‘services’ nor the levy of dues upon those involved (volunteers, elderly & disabled residents). An annual budget supports a no-frills office with telephones, printing, postage, one staff person( currently a volunteer ) and other essentials.
