VOLUNTEERS AND STAFF
There are more than 1,500 volunteer positions. Literally thousands of hours are donated every month by devoted volunteers. Four volunteers (are also Advisory Board members) coordinate the work of the local chapters in Bellevue, Des Moines, Federal Way, Highline, Issaquah and West Seattle. More Coordinators are needed. One staff person in each Home acquaints the volunteer friend with a tour, policies of the Home and introduces the volunteer to the resident to whom they are assigned. The Advisory Council meets monthly to plan and direct the overall program.
The paid staff consists of one full-time staff person, Marilyn Rust Soderquist, who is the daughter of Founder, Joe Rust. Marilyn has worked with FTF in different capacities since June 1988, including Resource Developer, Administrative Assistant and Program Director. Additional services are purchased on a part-time basis such as bookkeeping, computer support and graphic design.
